Advanced Symposium – Montessori Knew It All Along:  Current Topics in Neuroscience

Join us as we compare Dr. Montessori’s theories to current research topics with presenters Dr. Linda Caviness and Dr. John Hutton.  Topics include:  The Heart Brain Connection, A Fractal Pattern for Learning, and the Effects of Literature on Brain Network Connectivity with Pre-School Age Children.  The day will conclude with a panel of seasoned Montessori practitioners to discuss classroom practice based on current research.

An Introduction to the Montessori Method

Are you new to the Montessori Method? Perhaps you are considering a career in Montessori and are interested in learning more about the Method?  Would you like to increase your understanding of Montessori and strengthen your effectiveness in working with parents and children? This 2 day course is designed as an introduction to the Montessori Method.  Participants will improve their effectiveness in the Montessori classroom and learn to better relate to children, parents, teachers and school administrators.  The course will cover topics such as the Montessori philosophy, history of the Montessori Method, the prepared environment, the role of the adult in the Montessori classroom, and an overview of the core curriculum materials.
Dates: Saturday, Feb 2 and Saturday, Feb 23;  9 am – 5 pm both days
